Drawing the Moon

Today I drew one of my least favorite cards during my daily Tarot pull:  The Moon.

 The Moon, Robin Wood Tarot

This card has several interpretations; illusion, bewilderment, the unconscious, the intuition, imagination and fear being among them.  In my personal experience, this card also signifies betrayal and deception from those that once appeared as friends (illusion).

I frequently remind myself that my daily tarot pulls are not necessarily indicative of things that will happen but could be indicative of events of which I need to be aware.

How does The Moon card speak to you?  What messages do you or have you inferred from drawing this card?  What might be the beneficial lessons and meanings (if any) of this card?

What is it about Turtledoves?

I have noticed that one of my posts has  - overwhelmingly - the most number of hits on my blog.  It's the post I did last Holiday season on Two Turtledoves, as part of my study of The Twelve Days of Christmas.

Does anyone have any insight to offer as to the reason that this post gets so many hits?  On the little ticker to the right...and down...you can see from what part of the world my visitors are coming, and on what posting they "land."  You'll notice, as well, that lots of them hit upon the turtledoves.

Am I missing something about turtledoves?  I mean...they're nice and all...but come on!  And I know it's not my recipe for pear salad...

Cleaning House

Today, although I know it's technically a little late, I did spring cleaning for all of my magical supplies and implements.  Everything is now out on my counter top:  the things that can simply be washed mundanely have been, the things that need "special" cleaning are gathered and waiting for that to happen, and my stock of incense and oils has been noted and the list is made of what I need.

It feels good, clearing the cobwebs and dust off - both literally and figuratively - of these things.  And now that I've been "practicing" for a few years now, my items have a history and I have a deep love for them.  They are much like old friends.

I'm curious, though, as to how others "clean" their special implements.  Do you, gentle readers, have any tips and tricks for cleaning your crystals, for example?  Or what ritual do you like to use to consecrate or re-consecrate your tools.  I would love to hear from you on this.

Hope everyone is having a great day...

Returning

As the summer begins, I'm emerging from the Underworld.  Later than Persephone, but emerging nonetheless.

I hope that some of you are still with me!!
